]]>EDC Las Vegas and Beyond Wonderland are moving forward with their scheduled dates.
As of now, EDC Las Vegas is set for May 21 – 23, 2021 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Meanwhile, SoCal festival Beyond Wonderland is planned for June 25 & 26, 2021 at the NOS Events Center. These dates are subject to change, but organizers are continuing to plan for the best-case scenario.

]]>To say the dance music world is in shock following Daft Punk‘s split would be putting it lightly. Many hearts are broken, but there’s also a grateful tone moving forward as artists and fans look back on the music and memories.
This morning, the iconic duo put out a farewell video titled “Epilogue” bringing their immaculate run from 1993 – 2021 to a bittersweet end. See the video here, which shows the robotic identities of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo ultimately parting ways with a dramatic explosion.

]]>As long as I can remember, no matter who was headlining what festival or whichever artist had the top hit on the Billboard Dance/Electronic charts, it was always, “Yeah, but Daft Punk.” Now, the duo, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have officially broken up.
It’s been four years since their last public appearance together, when they accompanied The Weeknd on stage for a live performance of “I Feel It Coming.” In a new video on YouTube entitled “Epilogue,” the two walk in a desert as Thomas gradually walks slower, allowing Guy Manuel to gain some distance ahead. Eventually, Guy notices and walks back, as Thomas takes off his Daft Punk jacket, revealing a switch of some kind on his back — an off-switch.
A 59-second countdown begins. Thomas walks away, and then dramatically explodes. Multiple times. From different camera angles.
“Touch” from their 2013 album Random Access Memories plays as “1993-2021” appears on screen.
Their breakup has been confirmed by their longtime publicist.

Funeral For A Friend have rescheduled their upcoming anniversary UK tour to 2022 – see the new dates below.
Originally set for April this year, the tour will see the band play material from their first three studio albums: 2003 debut ‘Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation’, 2005’s ‘Hours’ and their third album, 2007’s ‘Tales Don’t Tell Themselves’.
Due to ongoing coronavirus concerns, the band’s tour will now take place at the very start of 2022. After breaking up in 2016, the band reunited in 2019 for a trio of charity gigs.

The band’s 2019 comeback charity shows came in support of one of the band’s biggest fans, Stuart Brothers, who had been given “a few short weeks to live by his Doctors”.
“Recently, a man who can quite legitimately lay claim to being the world’s biggest FFAF fan (both literally and figuratively!), our friend Stuart ‘Big Stu’ Brothers, has been stricken with a terrible illness which has ultimately led to a terminal prognosis,” the band wrote.
“As Stu’s friends, we wanted to do something to help; particularly for his family and three young sons, who are going through unspeakable trauma right now.” Proceeds from the show went directly to Brothers’ family.

YouTuber Markiplier detailed on a livestream the “unbelievable story” behind his newly broken foot after posting a photo of the cast on Twitter.
The livestream went up just under an hour after his hospital visit in which Markiplier (real name Mark Fischbach) explained he “didn’t have enough time to film in the hospital”. After promising to “auction off” his crutches when he was done with them, he told the story of his injury.
“I was out, just out for a walk. Little did I know that my entire existence would take a turn. As I took a turn to cross the street I looked both ways, at least I thought I did. It’s all so blurry now…”

He continued to explain his injury as members of his live chat engaged in an outpouring of sympathy. “I heard it break. I heard it… and then I felt it immediately,” he said. “It was like someone just punched me in the foot with a sledgehammer.”
Eventually he relayed the story of how he tripped on a storm drain whilst crossing the road, snapping the bone at the side of his foot.
When asked if it hurt, given Markiplier’s ability to bend his feet backward, he responded: “I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been in a lot of pain before, but to the doctor, I was like… I guess I’m like a five or six…when he was asking me if I needed painkillers!
“I’ve been pepper-sprayed before, I’ve broken bones before, I made a whole video about my pain scale…”
Many new members signed up as the video went on, to which Markiplier responded by wondering aloud: “How do I milk this as much as possible?”

Fans have been given a first glimpse of actress Amber Anderson’s character in the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders.
Anderson, who starred in last year’s film Emma as well as other TV shows including Black Mirror, is portraying an undisclosed character.
Over the weekend the actress shared an on-set photo of her in typical Peaky Blinders-style dress, writing: “Well, blimey. Beyond thrilled to announce that I will be in the final season of @peakyblindersofficial.
“We are already filming and it is going to be epic! Thank you @antobyrne75 & @shaheenbaigcasting . Love you long time

While it’s not known who Amberson is depicting, the show’s director Anthony Byrne told Digital Spy last June that a dangerous new female character had been written into the story.
“There’s a great female character who is new, who is pretty dark,” he said.
“I haven’t seen a character like her in Peaky before. I won’t say who she is, but she certainly gives Tommy a run for his money.
He went on to say the character is like Oswald Mosley. “She has a similar ideology, and that’s challenging for any character, like I’ve said before… he or she, they don’t have guns or a gang, but they have an ideology that’s like a virus and it’s more dangerous than anything.”
Anderson starred as Sara in the season two episode of Black Mirror, titled The Waldo Moment (2013). The third and final episode of the season followed Jamie (Daniel Rigby), an unhappy comedian who plays a blue animated bear called Waldo in a satirical television programme, and the drama surrounding Waldo’s later standing in a by-election.
Peaky Blinders began production on its final series last month. No release date has yet been set.

Disney+ has added a content disclaimer at the start of 18 episodes of The Muppet Show.
The comedy TV show, which began streaming on the platform on Friday (February 19), now has warnings at the beginning of several episodes spanning the show’s five seasons to “acknowledge” the “harmful impact” of portrayed stereotypes.
“This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now,” the disclaimer reads. “Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.”
The note has been added to each episode for a different reason. One example, as highlighted by Variety, is for the episode hosted by Johnny Cash in which he is seen singing in front of a confederate flag.
“Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe,” the disclaimer continues. “To learn more about how stories have impacted society visit: www. Disney.com/StoriesMatter.”
Disney’s Stories Matter initiative further explains the platform’s decision in a statement on Disney’s website.
It reads: “As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, we are in the process of reviewing our library and adding advisories to content that includes negative depictions or mistreatment of people or cultures.
“Rather than removing this content, we see an opportunity to spark conversation and open dialogue on history that affects us all. We also want to acknowledge that some communities have been erased or forgotten altogether, and we’re committed to giving voice to their stories as well.”
All 120 episodes of The Muppet Show are now available to stream on-demand, including seasons four and five which have never been released on home entertainment before.
The Muppet Show was created in the ’70s by the late Jim Henson and debuted on ITV in September 1976. It later found huge success in other countries, such as in the US.
It’s not the first time of late that a TV series or film has had a disclaimer added. Last year, Sky Cinema added warnings to Gone With The Wind, Flash Gordon and the original Dumbo for “outdated language and attitudes”.
Meanwhile, HBO Max inserted a social context intro to Blazing Saddles.

Boris Johnson is set to unveil the UK’s roadmap out of coronavirus lockdown later today, with all schools expected to open once more on March 8.
The Prime Minister will share his four-part plan to lift lockdown with MPs this afternoon, before unveiling it to the public at a news conference at 7PM.

From March 29, up to six people or two households will be allowed to meet outdoors, Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi has confirmed.
Socialising in parks and public spaces with one other person will also be permitted in a fortnight when the rules are relaxed to allow people to sit down for a drink or picnic.
‘As long as it’s outdoors and it’s two families, then that is what will be permitted if the four tests are delivered on.’
Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi says if “everything goes well” two families will be able to meet outside from the 29 March.

It is also believed that people will be able to travel out of their local areas from March 29, although official guidance will recommend staying local and overnight stays will be prohibited.
Outdoor sports facilities, including tennis and basketball courts, are also set to reopen at the end of next month.
Ahead of his Commons address, Johnson said: “Our priority has always been getting children back into school which we know is crucial for their education as well as their mental and physical wellbeing, and we will also be prioritising ways for people to reunite with loved ones safely.
“Our decisions will be made on the latest data at every step, and we will be cautious about this approach so that we do not undo the progress we have achieved so far and the sacrifices each and every one of you has made to keep yourself and others safe. ‘We have therefore set four key tests which must be met before we can move through each step of the plan.”
According to The Times, non-essential retail is unlikely to reopen before late April while pubs may open as late as May.
It is yet to be confirmed when music venues could open their doors once more.

A SISTAR reunion might be in the works, according to former member Dasom.
The singer-actress Dasom shared the news on Sunday (February 21) during an appearance on the new social media platform Clubhouse. She noted that the group have been discussing making a proper comeback and that their label, Starship Entertainment, seemed to be on board with the idea.
“Should we just do [the reunion]? We did talked [sic] about it and our company somehow… Our members keep talking about, ‘should we just do the comeback?’ And [Starship Entertainment] also seems [to be] liking the idea,” Dasom said, as recorded and translated by Twitter user @soyouaremymango. “So if u wait a little more, it will happen.”

During her appearance on the app, Dasom also talked about the dreams and aspirations she had as a child. This included wanting to be a teacher, and subsequently an actress. She also said that she finds being a part of SISTAR to be the best thing that happened to her, and will always be thankful for it.
Since SISTAR’s disbandment in 2017, the vocalist has been furthering her acting career. She has appeared in various television dramas such as The Virtual Bride (2015), Ms. Kim’s Mystery (2018), and He Is Psychometric (2019).
The other members of SISTAR have also been pursuing their own ventures since the split. Main vocalist Hyolyn founded her own music label, Bridʒ, and has been releasing her own music. Her latest EP ‘Say My Name’ was released in the second half of 2020.
Soyou, the lead vocalist, stayed with Starship Entertainment and also released her own single ‘Gotta Go’ in the same year. Last month, main dancer and rapper Bora was revealed to be one of the hosts for GlanceTV’s beauty show Unnie’s Beauty Carpool.
